How To Join As An Adult Senior Member

Ready to Join CAP and the Lake County Composite Squadron?

Here’s how to get started!

Step 1. Visit our squadron

Senior Members & Cadets meet every Tuesday from 1900 - 2100 (7 PM - 9 PM), and up to an additional Saturday activity per month.  

While you may be ready to sign up the first night, we ask that you attend three CAP meetings before making a decision. You’ll have a chance to see how our meetings are run and what types of activities are available – ask questions and experience the culture of Lake County Composite Squadron!

*We do not hold meetings the week of Thanksgiving or the last two weeks of the year.

Step 2. Membership Application

Adults, we’ll provide you with a senior membership application or you can download the Senior Member Application.

When you turn in your application, we’ll need a way for us to prove your identity, such as a U.S. Passport, Social Security card, driver’s license, a certified copy of a birth certificate, or a permanent resident card (I-551).

For adults, FD 258 Fingerprint Card, card can be processed at your local police station, electronic fingerprint cards are authorized, or traditional ink based are accepted (you’ll keep the card once you’ve been fingerprinted):

You’ll bring the fingerprinted card back with you and turn it in with your CAP application. A check or cash for $40.00 is needed for CAP national dues and $30.00 for local squadron dues, total of $70 (these dues are annual). Checks can be made out to Civil Air Patrol.  Once your Senior Member Application is signed by the Squadron Commander, it is then mailed along with your fingerprint card and your dues to:

Once your application is received and processed, you’ll receive a new member e-mail and a newly minted CAP ID – this typically takes 1 – 2 weeks. Once you receive your CAP ID, check out our resources for new members!
