How to Join As A Cadet
Ready to Join CAP and the Lake County Composite Squadron?
Here’s how to get started!
Step 1. Visit our squadron
Senior Members & Cadets meet every Tuesday from 1900 - 2100 (7 PM - 9 PM), and up to an additional Saturday activity per month.
While you may be ready to sign up the first night, we ask that you attend three CAP meetings before making a decision. You’ll have a chance to see how our meetings are run and what types of activities are available – ask questions and experience the culture of Lake County Composite Squadron!
*We do not hold meetings the week of Thanksgiving or the last two weeks of the year.
Step 2. Membership Application
View the CAP membership dues table
Cadets, after your 3rd meeting night, please fill out the Online Cadet Application. Membership dues are $40 annually, During your 3 weeks you will need to schedule time with our Deputy Commander of Cadets or the Commander to sit down and discuss the Cadet Program with you and your parents. This is the time to ask and answer any questions, go over your application, and approve your application in the system if all are in agreement and ready to move forward.
Once your application is received and processed, you’ll receive a new member e-mail and a newly minted CAP ID – this typically takes 1 – 2 weeks. Once you receive your CAP ID, check out our resources for new members!
Welcome aboard – we’re glad you’re part of our team!
